Gabiadji: Dominique Ouattara visits a farmer field-school
After meeting with the coffee-cocoa producers and the women of San Pedro, the First Lady visited, on Saturday, May 17, 2014, a farmer field school of the cooperative of Gabiadji. Long before, Mrs. Ouattara testified her solidarity to the people of Gabiadji. She offered food and non-food supplies worth 15 million CFA francs. Mrs. Ouattara, the brand host then explained to the people, the reasons for the meeting she had in San Pedro, with producers from Cote d'Ivoire and the women of San Pedro. Taking advantage of this opportunity, she urged the people of this community to ban the use of child labor in coffee and cocoa farming.
Tagnon Maurice, spokesman for the people thanked Mrs. Dominique Ouattara for her humanitarian actions. He also recalled that for some years, the cooperative of the village has endorsed good agricultural practices. For this reason, the cooperative, he said, last year was awarded the excellence prize and the gold medal for good practices in the field of agriculture. After this meeting, the First Lady, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara along with her delegation, composed of Ministers Anne Désirée Ouloto; Dosso Moussa and Mamadou Coulibaly Sangafowa visited a cocoa school of the Gabiadji cooperative. Under the cocoa orchards, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara and her delegation had a talk with Kouamé Kouassi Bernard, President of the Cooperative Board. The latter explained that this farmer field school has no other objective than to train the farmers. In addition, he praised the First Lady's commitment to combat trafficking and child labor. After this visit, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara offered an amount of one million CFA francs to the persons present.
