The Fight against Child Labour : Yao Patricia Sylvie, Executive Secretary of the CNS, awarded for her commitment to address the scourge

Mrs. Yao Patricia Sylvie, Executive Secretary of the National Oversight Committee to fight trafficking, exploitation and child labour (CNS) received on Friday, January 14, 2022, the Alassane Ouattara diamond prize for the best administrator in the fight against exploitation and child labor in the WAEMU zone.

The ceremony, which took place at the Office of the First Lady in Cocody, witnessed the participation of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, Mrs. Nassénéba Touré, Minister of Women, Family and Children, and Vice President of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Fight against Trafficking, Exploitation and Child Labor, as well as many other officials.

Awarded by Afrique Vérité, the Alassane Ouattara Diamond Prize for the best administrator in the fight against child exploitation and child labour in the WAEMU zone rewards the professionalism and excellent management skills of Mrs. Yao Patricia Sylvie, Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff to the First Lady.

Mrs. Dominique Ouattara took this opportunity to pay a special tribute to her collaborator for her professional and personal qualities. The same skills not only have enabled her to bring unity among members of the First Lady's Cabinet, but also to contribute to  the achievement of policy objectives in the field of child labour. ", Mrs. Patricia Yao is an exceptional collaborator, someone who is discreet and known for her   knowledge and human qualities.   Together, we have travelled all over the country to bring donations to communities living in difficult conditions. We have set up many projects for the benefit of the people. In her capacity as executive secretary of the National Oversight Committee, she has been particularly involved in the fight against child labour" she said. " child labour is a complex subject that requires many working sessions, awareness campaigns, follow-up meetings with national and international partners. It is a long term work.  As executive secretary, Mrs. Yao has been working tirelessly with the help of all my team.  I would therefore like to congratulate them. She has been able to bring together the entire Cabinet team to achieve the objectives I have assigned to them and I am particularly proud to have her as my collaborator. Dear Patricia, I am happy to tell you that I appreciate your effort, thank you for your work and  affection all these years. "  She added . To conclude, the First Lady ended her speech with a thanks to Afrique Vérité for deciding to honor the work and skills of great men and women.

Mrs. Yao Patricia Sylvie dedicated the award to the First Lady. Because, she said, it is under her leadership that actions to fight  child labour are implemented. To this end, she recalled that the wife of the Head of State spares no effort to raise the voice and experience of Côte d'Ivoire at the international level. It is also under the initiative of the First Lady that the country has experienced real progress in the fight against child labor.

Lath Fornier, Director General of Afrique Vérité for the promotion of Good Governance, took this opportunity to make a presentation of his organisation. According to him,  It is a pan-African communication organisation, created in 2015, which aims to celebrate  talents and values in Africa while promoting good governance.

Mrs. Yao Patricia Sylvie is a Member of Parliament, Vice President of the National Assembly, Mayor of Guitry and Executive Secretary of the CNS.
